I am excited to offer a home-based preschool with emphasis on sensory learning and outdoor play. I am a wife, a mom of teenagers, and a former gifted education teacher. I love to plan fun activities for children such as taking a picture book as a jumping point for play or creation, making up songs that fit what we are learning about, and giving them hands-on experiences that build their confidence and understanding of the world. I need some children who can do these activities that I enjoy planning!
I believe children learn best when they feel challenged, supported, and seen for their individual strengths and interests. I approach the classroom climate from the Responsive Classroom methodology which is child centered and empowers students to make positive choices through teaching social-emotional skills, clear expectations, routines and providing a safe and engaging environment.
My classroom space is conveniently located near Mebane and HIllsborough near Lloyd’s Dairy. Housed in our old farm house with a spacious yard complete with garden beds, mud kitchen, room to run, a large blacktop area for chalk art, a swing set and a mulberry tree to play beneath.
